A day that began brightly for Green Bay Packers fans took a turn for the worse against the Philadelphia Eagles after Jordan Love was injured in the closing moments of their opening game of the 2024 season in Brazil. With around six seconds left, the Packers were trailing 29-34, having led earlier during the match and at the halftime break.
As the quarterback tried to make a play, he was caught by a crunching tackle between Philadelphia rushers Josh Sweat and Jalen Carter, and it was apparent that he was in severe pain. He got twisted and there was concern that his left MCL had given way or that it was a high ankle sprain.
Thankfully, even though he was taken off the field, he did so on his own power. And after the end of the game, he was seen leaning on the trainers and Josh Jacobs and he made his way into the locker room. It was a chastening end to the evening for the Packers as they suffered their first loss of the season in their opening game of the 2024 season against a team considered to be their rival in the NFC for the playoffs.

UPDATE: Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Packers have carried out initial scans. Jordan Love's ACL is intact, which is good news for the franchise but there are still several outcomes that could dictate Jordan Love's injury status for the next few weeks.
Jason Kelce and Brett Favre show concern for Jordan Love after Packers' QB injury against Eagles
Former Green Bay quarterback and Hall-of-Famer, Brett Favre, was quick to take to social media and give his judgment about the whole situation. He was cautiously optimistic that Jordan Love was able to get up on his own, writing:
"Good seeing Jordan able to get up. It’s those times you’re just trying to make a play that can get you twisted around and injured."
On the other side of the fence, former Eagles center Jason Kelce was on hand to congratulate the Eagles on their 34-29 win but also send his thoughts to the Packers quarterback. He wrote on X/Twitter:
"Hopefully Jordan Love is okay, love watching him play, was quietly a little nervous about this one, big win for the Good Guys"
While there will be further assessments, Green Bay supporters will be hopeful that their quarterback can return sooner rather than later, and possibly be available for their upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Their depth in that position beyond Jordan Love is paltry with Malik Willis, who hardly set the world alight during his time with the Tennessee Titans, being the backup. Sean Clifford is another option beyond him.
