The Cleveland Browns had to deal with an injury scare on Wednesday, as running back Pierre Strong Jr. had to be taken to the University Hospitals Medical Center in Cleveland via ambulance. He reportedly suffered an upper-body injury during practice and walked off the field after being tended to by the medical staff.
Strong felt shortness of breath and had to be taken to the medical facility for further evaluation. Fortunately, the injury wasn't particularly severe.
Per Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot, the running back suffered a rib contusion and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. He has been released from the medical facility but it's unclear whether he has been cleared to return to practice.

Strong Jr. is the second Browns running back after D'Onta Foreman to be transported to a hospital in an ambulance after suffering an injury in training camp. However, unlike Strong, Foreman's injury was quite severe.
On Aug. 1, the veteran running back suffered a neck injury during a punt protection drill and had to be stretchered off the field. He was sidelined for two weeks but returned in time to play and score a touchdown in the Browns' preseason outing against the Minnesota Vikings.
Cleveland is banking on both Strong Jr. and Foreman remaining healthy and contributing in its ground game until Pro Bowl RB Nick Chubb returns from injury.
Browns RB Depth Chart: Pierre Strong Jr. could play a big role on offense
With All-Pro running back Chubb out indefinitely and Kareem Hunt still a free agent, the Browns are expected to start the year with Jerome Ford as the starter in the backfield and Pierre Strong Jr. as his deputy.
Strong Jr., who Cleveland acquired via a trade with the New England Patriots last year, carried the ball only 63 times and rushed for 291 yards and one touchdown. He also caught five passes for 47 yards.
With Chubb expected to miss a few games, Pierre Strong Jr. will have the opportunity to make a massive impression and cement his position as the team's backup running back.
His rib injury came at an unfortunate time as the season will commence in less than three weeks. He'll hope for a speedy recovery so he can suit up and play in the Browns' season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
