The Denver Broncos suffered a defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs today and suffered another loss in quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson scrambled for a first down at the start of the fourth quarter. As he was tackled, he landed headfirst, bouncing his head off the ground.

Wilson was sent to the blue tent and was then ruled out of the game with a concussion. He set up first and goal for the Broncos before exiting the game.

Backup quarterback Brett Rypien stepped in for the injured Wilson. He scored on the drive and finished the game 4/8 for 16 yards and one passing touchdown.

Prior to leaving the game with a concussion, Russell Wilson was having one of his best games of the season.

He completed 23 out of 36 passes for 247 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also ran for 57 yards on four carries. His quarterback rating of 100.1 was the fourth highest he's had all season out of 12 games played. His 247 yards were the fifth-most he's thrown for in a game, and his three touchdowns are the most he's thrown for in one game this season.

Kansas City was off to a fast start against the Broncos. They got off to a 27-0 lead after a few field goals and touchdowns from running back Jerick McKinnon.

Russell Wilson then threw two touchdown passes to Jerry Jeudy before the half ended, and then another touchdown to Marlon Mack right when the third quarter began. Kansas City scored another touchdown to go up 34-21 before Jeudy scored his third of the game. Kansas City won 34-28 in a close divisional game.
