Before marrying Russell Wilson, Ciara was in a relationship with rapper Future. However, their relationship ended months after the singer gave birth to their son, Future Jr. They went through a public breakup, shortly before Wilson met the Denver Broncos QB.

Future, on his end, made sure to speak of his views about Ciara's new relationship. According to the rapper, Russell Wilson is no man for dating Ciara.

"He do exactly what she tell him to do. He not being a man in that position," Future told Beats 1 Radio in an interview. "You not tellin' her, 'Bro, chill out with that on the internet. Don't even talk to him. I'm your husband! You better not even bring Future's name up!'"

Apparently, things weren't the same when Ciara was dating Future. This included exes, and how Ciara didn't speak of her exes while with the rapper.

"If that was me, she couldn't even bring his name up. She'd know that. She couldn't even bring her exes' names up. Don't give that s— no energy. It's about me. I'm taking care of everything."

Though Wilson didn't react to the comment directly, he did share a tweet shortly afterwards:

"All that matters. #Love," Wilson wrote.

When Ciara met Russell Wilson, she was already raising her oldest son, Future Jr. Over the years, Wilson has accepted Future as his own son. The QB continues to bond with his son, the most recent being a birthday wish for the young kid:

"Happy 9th Bday Young King! Future, We love you. 9 represents confidence, skill & wisdom! The last of the single digits. You are a Leader, Compassionate to others, an amazing big brother, and an amazing son. But most importantly you are a Child of God!"

In an earlier interview, Wilson had also spoken about how Future Jr changed his life. The boy was young, and Wilson saw him as a blessing, trying to be there for him every day. As per Wilson, he wanted to be there for his son as his dad was there for him.

That being said, the 34-year-old is currently prepping for his second season with the Denver Broncos. Spending a majority of his career with the Seattle Seahawks, Wilson was expected to make the Broncos Super Bowl contenders. However, Wilson failed to perform as the Broncos missed the playoffs.

As the 2023 season approaches, Wilson will be focused on turning things around for the team.
