The 2023 NFL draft is fast approaching. The grand event will be held in the plaza outside of Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri, from April 27–29.

Here, we take a look at the top five guards that will be up for selection in the upcoming draft.

#1 O'Cyrus Torrence - Florida Gators (Projected first-round pick in 2023 NFL draft)

O'Cyrus Torrence had another solid season with the Florida Gators in 2022. The offensive lineman helped his team to a fifth-placed finish in the SEC East with a 6-7 record.

Torrence has a very strong ground game and at 6' 5", 347 lbs, he is a man mountain. Additionally, he is also quick to read twists and search for adjusted assignments.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the upcoming draft.

#2 Steve Avila - TCU Horned Frogs

Steve Avila played left guard and center for the TCU Horned Frogs. He helped the team to a 13-2 record in 2022, as they topped the Big 12 standings.

Avila is 6' 4" and 332 pounds and his frame is dense and capable of absorbing contact. He also possesses enough quickness and athleticism to play in the NFL.

The 23-year-old is projected to join the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the draft.

#3 Nick Broeker - Ole Miss Rebels

Nick Broeker played left guard for the Ole Miss Rebels in 2022. He managed second-team All-SEC accolades after not allowing a single sack in 435 pass-blocking snaps in his 13 starts.

Broeker is 6' 4" and weighs 305 pounds, but has impressive recovery quickness against sudden movement at the line. The 22-year-old is also efficient with his hands and hips to swivel and seal cross-face blocks.

Many analysts believe that Broeher will get selected in the third round of the NFL draft.

#4 Andrew Vorhees - USC Trojans

Andrew Vorhees, unfortunately, tore his ACL during the NFL Combine. However, he still returned for the bench press drills and finished with a Combine high of 38 reps.

Vorhees will certainly be on the radar of certain teams when he enters the draft. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound guard started in 11 games for the USC Trojans last season and helped them to an 11-3 record, finishing at the summit of the Pac-12 standings.

The 24-year-old is expected to be selected in the third round of the draft.

#5 Chandler Zavala - NC State Wolfpack

Chandler Zavala surprisingly wasn't invited to the NFL Combine. The NC State star only allowed 0.5 sacks over 747 snaps last season while starting all 12 games at left guard.

Zavala's 6-foot-5, 325-pound frame also measures up well for the big league. He also has the agility and speed to get out in front and land blocks.

The 24-year-old is tipped to be selected in the fourth round of the draft.
