The Tennessee Titans have ended their search for a new general manager after announcing Ran Carthon today. With Jon Robinson being given his marching orders after the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and after a week of searching, Tennessee have their man.

Carthon was previously an executive for the St.Louis/Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta Falcons, and was the director of player personnel for the last two years with the San Francisco 49ers. He was also with the organization prior to that as director of pro personnel. He will now take his talents to the AFC South and the Titans.

Who are the current favorites for the Super Bowl?

The 41-year-old comes with a good resume and the Titans organization will be hoping he can lead them in the right direction with player recruitment as well as drafting.

Ran Carthon was an NFL player, albeit briefly with the Indianapolis Colts, for two seasons. He was a running back and special teams player from 2005 to 2006. He was also a member of the Detroit Lions' practice squad in 2006.

He could only manage nine games in his two seasons, totalling 22 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries.

Ran Carthon has a big job to do with the Titans

The 41-year-old's first order of business is likely to help head coach Mike Vrabel decide which way the organization is going to go with their quarterback situation.

With Ryan Tannehill seemingly not the guy in Tennessee anymore and Malik Willis still a raw prospect, does Joshua Dobbs have the first chance to stake his claim?

Taking Willis in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the rookie was underwhelming in his three games as a starter. But given the situation, patience is key, so it remains to be seen if Willis will be given the keys to the Titans' kingdom.

Ran Carthon has done a superb job off the field with the 49ers and Titans fans will be hoping he, along with Vrable, can get Tennessee over the hump in the AFC.
