Since 1997, Jim Irsay has served as the owner of the Indianapolis Colts. In his time, the team made two Super Bowl appearances. However, he had several issues plaguing his health over the past few years. On Wednesday, Irsay breathed his last at his home alongside his family. He passed away at the age of 65.
With his death, there are questions about who will now be the owner of the Indianapolis Colts. Jim Irsay leaves behind three daughters, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson.
Irsay had inherited the ownership of the Indianapolis Colts after his father's death. According to CBS Sports, his children will follow the same path as he did and will continue their involvement with the franchise. Jim Irsay believed that all three of his daughters were on equal footing.

"We're keeping 100% of the team that I'm passing on to my children," Irsay said before he inherited the Colts from his father (via The Indianapolis Star).

One of Irsay's daughters is expected to hold the principal owner vote of the franchise. However, there could be a potential rotation between Irsay's children.
Carlie Irsay-Gordon has been serving as the vice president of the Colts since 2008. Casey Foyt joined the front office in 2007 and has been primarily involved with marketing and community relations. Kalen Jackson focuses on the philanthropy side of the business and was named VP in 2010.
Ex-NFL star reacts to Jim Irsay's death
Peyton Manning was drafted by the Colts as the No.1 pick of the 1998 draft. He spent 14 seasons with the franchise and led them to victory during Super Bowl XLI. This was the team's only Lombardi trophy under Irsay's regime.
After Irsay's death, Peyton Manning took to social media to dedicate a post to him. Manning shared snippets of himself with Irsay and accompanied them with a tribute to his legacy while expressing his gratitude to him for giving him an opportunity in the league.
"I am heartbroken to hear about Jim Irsay's passing," Manning wrote. "He was an incredibly generous and passionate owner and I will always be indebted to him for giving me my start in the NFL."
"His love for the Colts and the city of Indy was unmatched. His impact on players who played for him will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and everyone in the Colts community. He will be missed. Jim, rest in peace."
During the 2024 season, the Colts finished with an 8-9 campaign. It will be interesting to see which daughter steps up to take charge of the team as his successor.
