He received 48 out of 50 first-place votes, totaling 490 points, making him the almost unanimous choice. Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, came in second with 193 points. Mahomes guided the Chiefs to a 14-3 record in the regular season of the 2022 NFL and the top overall seed in the AFC playoffs.
