Will Aaron Rodgers leave Packers? QB’s teammate provides insight into locker room feeling

Aaron Rodgers' future is being discussed fervently

Just where Aaron Rodgers will be playing his football in 2023, if at all, is once again dominating the headlines. The four-time NFL MVP winner is once again looking like he will leave Wisconsin, but where will he go?

Several teams are thought to be interested, but another option for the quarterback is to retire and walk away from the game. Having accomplished everything there is to in the NFL, along with winning just about every quarterback award available, there is no need to 'prove' himself to others.

Speaking of others, Packers running back Aaron Jones was recently on The Pivot Podcast and was asked about Rodgers' future with the organization. He gave a response full of praise for the legendary quarterback.

"I've thought about it the last three offseasons, if he's coming back, but this year, it seems more real. It resonates with me because he's been such a big part of my career. Someone to believe in me and trust in me so much like Aaron has. I would hate to see him leave. He's a great leader, that's my guy."

It is clear that Jones doesn't want the quarterback to leave, and why would he? But that decision isn't his and Rodgers is currently undergoing a darkness retreat to come to an answer on his future.

What could Aaron Rodgers do in 2023?

The 39-year-old has a lot of different options on the table and one of them is the New York Jets. That rumor just won't go away, so is there something substantial in it?

Possibly.

Former Packers coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is the new offensive coordinator, so that could sway Aaron Rodgers to move to New York. But a move to a new team, where he has to learn a new playbook and get to know his new teammates, seems like a lot for a player at this stage of his career.

He could very well retire also. As mentioned above, he has done everything in the game and there isn't anything left for him to prove. That is, aside from winning another Super Bowl. But from the outside, at least, that doesn't seem high on the list of priorities.

Just what his decision will be makes for fascinating viewing. Hopefully, we don't have to wait too long to find out.
