Last Sunday, Will Levis and the Tennessee Titans suffered a 24-17 loss at the hands of the New York Jets and fell to 0-2. It was the same scoreline that they lost by in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, and yet again the quarterback made an egregious mistake that left the coaching staff and the fans fuming.

Midway through the second quarter, the Titans were leading 7-0 and were in prime position to add to their lead. On a 3rd-and-goal play from the Jets' six-yard line, Levis looked for one of his teammates in the endzone but couldn't find anyone and bolted out of the collapsing pocket to extend the play.

However, he was tripped, which meant the Titans would've had to settle for a field goal. But before his knees hit the floor, the quarterback astonishingly threw a lateral pass to running back Tyjae Spears, who wasn't ready for it. The defense pounced on the loose ball and forced a turnover.

Titans coach Bill Callahan was visibly ticked off by his quarterback's gaffe and yelled, "What the f**k are you doing?" as he jogged back to the sideline.

During his media availability on Wednesday, Will Levis was asked about his head coach's outburst and he claimed he wasn't bothered by it.

“I didn’t bat an eye at it. I took the coaching. I was yelling at myself in my head the same way he was yelling at me. I know it’s an emotional response that we all have after things like that. We were right back to it, and he had confidence in me on the next play taking that shot," said Will Levis to reporters per NBC Sports.

While the quarterback and the coach have seemingly moved on from the incident, the latter did not mince words when critiquing his quarterback's decision-making in the Titans' first two games.

Bill Callahan fired warning to Will Levis

During his post-game press conference on Sunday, Callahan told reporters that Will Levis called his lateral pass an "inexcusable" mistake.

"Yeah, I was upset. It was dumb. It was the same exact thing he did last week, and it cost us points in the red zone. That is what it is. He's a grown-up, and he knows better. I was really irritated that he cost us three points in a game that we probably needed it," Calahan told reporters per NFL.com.

Levis threw a similar interception against the Chicago Bears in Week 1, which was returned for a touchdown and wiped away the Titans' 17-point lead.

Calahan has advised his quarterback to take the sack rather than trying to make an acrobatic play that costs his team. It remains to be seen whether he heeds his head coach's advice in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers.
