Matthew Stafford has a history of breaking through defenses with his no-look passes. The LA Rams faced off against the Detroit Lions in an away game for their season opener on Sunday night, and the veteran quarterback stunned everyone with an incredible throw made under pressure.
The nail-biting fixture was decided in overtime, with the Lions claiming victory 26-20. However, in the fourth quarter, with only around four minutes left on the clock, Ram's offensive line was breached by the Lions’ defenses and rushed to sack Stafford, who threw a pass to wide receiver Demarcus Robinson, which ended in a 13-yard completion, and left Chris Collinsworth of Sunday Night Football in awe:
"This may be the throw of the year. How does he even SEE the guy down the field, much less falling backward, fadeaway jumper, no-look, whatever the heck that was and complete that 3rd down pass?! That is ridonkulous right there! Wow!"

“Seriously dude, you’re insane 🤯."
Matthew Stafford could not fulfill Kelly’s wish
After being drafted as the overall first pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL draft, the couple stayed in Detroit for 12 years before Matthew Stafford was traded to the Rams in 2021. Before Sunday's game, on her eponymous podcast, Kelly said:
"I know we've had amazing experiences there, and I'm gonna remember those, as you know. I'm not going, but I hope you kick their a**. Not to say, obviously, I hope you kick everybody's a**. I love Detroit, but you know what? They got their win last year; you know now it's our turn.”
Matthew Stafford threw for 317 yards with one touchdown and an interception in the loss. He will have another chance next week as the Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday in Phoenix.
