Former Packers WR lashes out at Aaron Rodgers for slandering teammates

Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers are going through a tough time right now. The Packers have lost three of their last four games. From the outside at least, things seem to have started to come apart.

The quarterback was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show in his usual Tuesday spot and said that too many players are making mistakes. He added that perhaps it was time to give players who have had little game time so far an opportunity.

Former Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings wasn't a fan of his former quarterback's comments regarding who should and shouldn't play. Jennings spoke on ESPN's First Things First and didn't hold back.

“He can’t do this. He can’t do this, like you can’t. I understand they are having problems and he is playing with a lot of frustration with the guys around him, specifically at the wide receiver position. But you can’t sit down, on a show, and start talking about who should and shouldn’t be playing because of mental errors.”

Jennings isn't the only one who has problems with Aaron Rodgers' comments. Several people think that it wasn't good leadership from the quarterback.

It remains to be seen what exactly will come from his comments, if anything. But after a poor start to the season, the Green Bay Packers are under serious pressure and their quarterback isn't helping.

Are Aaron Rodgers and the Packers coming unstuck?

From the outside looking in, it seems that way. This is not normal for Packers teams of the last three seasons (only lost three games in each season). Through seven games in 2022, they have lost four, three of them in consecutive weeks.

Many have attributed the lack of productivity to the loss of Davante Adams, who went to the Raiders. But they should also consider the effect of losing offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to Denver.

Those are two big pieces now gone in the Packers offense and their absence can clearly be seen. There is still time for Aaron Rodgers and his team to steady the ship and get things on track.

However, given their poor start to the year, the margin for error in the next 10 games is incredibly small. Add in the fact that Minnesota Vikings are two games ahead of them in the division and hold the tie-breaker, and it's clear that the Packers could easily miss the playoffs.

Something that seemed unthinkable just weeks ago.
