When you play for Aaron Rodgers, he expects the highest standards from his wide receivers. Christian Watson seems to have learned that the hard way today. With less than two minutes left on the clock and the Packers leading 24-12, Aaron Rodgers signaled a play.

It involved him subtly rubbing his right arm with his left, while looking at Watson. However, the receiver was oblivious to what was being asked of him. With a 3rd-and-2 near the goalline, there was every chance that if the play had been read, he would have walked into the endzone.

Instead, there was no scoring and Aaron Rodgers called a run play for the third down. It allowed the Packers to get to first and goal. In turn, that helped them get into the victory formation and Rodgers knelt to close out the game.

Right after the game was over, in an interview with ESPN, he fired a warning to the rookie, saying,"You wanna score touchdowns, you run the right routes."

With this win, Rodgers and his Packers team kept their slim playoff hopes alive, while the defending Super Bowl champions Rams saw their season take yet another miserable turn, with not even Baker Mayfield, this time able to inspire his new team.

Aaron Rodgers sends warning to Christian Watson and other teams in interview

Aaron Rodgers was cheery in the interview after securing a win that keeps the Packers’ playoff hopes alive. He was initially asked about the touchdown opportunity at the end of the game that Christian Watson missed. He replied as stated above and made it clear that even if he was happy, he was not going to allow low standards from his wide receivers.

He also fired a warning to the rest of the league when asked about their playoff chances. The interviewer first said that all the teams they will face in the coming weeks are above 0.500 right now. He cheekily corrected her saying one team is exactly 0.500 and not above. He was referring to divisional rivals Detroit Lions who have a 7-7 record right now.

He also pointed out that two of the games are at Lambeau Field in peak winter. It is not the easiest place for any opposing quarterback to come to. It has got some of the most passionate fans in the league and the weather can throw even the best opposition teams off balance.
