Zach Wilson's family net worth: Jets QB's ancestral fortune estimated to be worth billions/millions of dollars

Detroit Lions v New York Jets
Zach Wilson's family has an incredible net worth

Zach Wilson is an NFL quarterback who found a team in the first round of his NFL Draft. Not only that, he went second overall. Even if his career is not going to plan now, that draft status alone is enough to secure a solid net worth.

As per estimates, the young New York Jets quarterback has a net worth of $10 million two years into his brief NFL career out of BYU.

His uncle, however, has an incredible net worth of $400 million. He reportedly used some of it to bring 200 people to one of Wilson's games.

The quarterback's $10 million would generally be enough to make him one of the richest in his family, but it's not so for Wilson. In fact, his family might be one of the richest out there.

It is no secret that the quarterback comes from an affluent family. When he came under fire for disregarding his team's defense that kept his shoddy three-point scoring total in the game until the final 30 seconds against New England, ESPN analyst Booger McFarland mentioned it, per Audacy:

“Let’s understand who this young man is before we ask him to accept accountability. He’s a young man who grew up with a lot of money. I don’t think he’s ever had to accept accountability. So now on the biggest stage, we want this quarterback to accept accountability.”

His co-host, former quarterback Steve Young, disagreed, but McFarland wasn't hearing it:

"Steve! He hasn’t had to accept accountability, so now on the biggest stage we want this kid to be an adult in front of grown men and accept accountability.”

His family is worth a lot. If Zach Wilson can turn his NFL career around, he might be able to contribute thoughtfully to that.

Is Zach Wilson done with the New York Jets?

The New York Jets have made a surprising push to the playoffs, hanging within a game of the seventh seed with two weeks to go. Much of that has been in spite of, and not because of, Zach Wilson.

Zach Wilson has not performed well.

The second-year quarterback missed time with an injury, and the Jets did well. They've also done all right without him after he returned and found himself on the bench.

When he has gotten a chance, he's failed this season. For a team on the brink of contention, that can't happen. As a result, reports suggest they'll look to move on from him in the offseason.
