Mecole Hardman joined the rest of Chiefs Kingdom for Sunday Night Football on the couch over the weekend. At times, the game did not go as planned, and fans understandably felt frustrated. However, the Chiefs receiver claimed to have joined the demographic of the fanbase that is guilty of breaking their televisions in anger.

The wide receiver took to Twitter to share a photo of his living room, which appears to have a smashed and glitched-out television. The story was overwhelmingly rejected by fans, with several comments pointing to a suspiciously similar-looking video on YouTube.

Essentially, the vast majority of fans accused the receiver of reproducing a social media prank. By playing the video and pausing it, the prank attempts to trick someone into thinking their television is broken. Hundreds, if not thousands, of pranks are being circulated on social media platforms such as TikTok.

With Tyreek Hill on the roster, the Chiefs wide receiver was limited in his ability to contribute. However, with Hill now out of the picture, the wide receiver has had more of an opportunity to shine this year than in any other year of his career. That said, he started the season as slow as any other.

Through Hardman's first four games, he had less than 70 yards and one touchdown for the season. Starting with the team's game against the Raiders, it all changed. He had four catches for 73 yards, essentially doubling his production for the year overnight. In the following three games, he earned his first three touchdowns of the season.

As soon as the spotlight began to hit the Chiefs receiver, he, unfortunately, hit a catastrophic snag. He suffered an abdomen injury and was placed on injured reserve. He'll be out for at least the next four games. The Chiefs will hope to have him back in time for the final stretch of the regular season in order to secure the AFC's top seed.

Failing that, they'll be banking on getting him back as a new variable for defenses to stress about in January. The team currently leads the AFC at 8-2, but have plenty of teams hot on their trail. The Dolphins, Titans, Ravens, and Bills are all 7-3 and could catch the team overnight if the Chiefs slip up.

Will Patrick Mahomes continue to light up defenses without Mecole Hardman?
