The Houston Texans and upping their wardrobe game ahead of their Sunday night game against the Detroit Lions. For the Lions, who have lost just one game in the season so far, the players will be donning their new vibrant Battle Red jerseys and Battle Red chrome helmets, as per Adam Schefter.
However, fans were not too pleased with their fashion game. In fact, the team got trolled by fans on X (formerly, Twitter). One fan doubted the choice of the main color right after the election was over. Red happens to be the color the Republicans are shown on charts as.
"Right after the election is crazy work"
Another fan joked that the team would lose big time in the Lions game and record a score of 14-45.
"They are gonna look good losing 45-14"
Other fans also got their jokes off on the Texans for their Battle Red uniform.
"Perfect, will cover up the blood from when the Lions punch them in the mouth," one fan said about their upcoming Week 10 game.
"These are ugly" another fan wrote.
"Not sure it screams “Texans” to me though… more like Texas Tech," another fan compared it with Patrick Mahomes' college team's jerseys.
"The MAGA jerseys 🔥😮💨," one fan pointed out that the new uniforms looked like they were endorsing Donald Trump and his MAGA slogan.
Houston Texans trade away Khalil Davis to the 49ers
Just before the trade deadline, the team chose to let Khalil Davis walk out of the team's locker room over to the San Francisco 49ers now that DT Mario Edwards JR. will be back from his four-game suspension next week.
For Davis, they got a 2026-seventh-round pick. He had joined the Texans in 2023 and had recorded 32 tackles with six QB hits and two sacks. Houston was able to reach the playoffs for the first time in four seasons. This season, so far, Davis has recorded two tackles and one sack on 172 defensive snaps.
The upcoming weeks look good for Houston, especially with two offensive starters, Nick Collins and Will Anderson Jr., set to return to the game. However, with Diggs sidelined for the rest of the season, the remaining offensive players have their work cut out for them Can CJ Stroud and the team manage to beat the Lions on Sunday night coming off a heartbreaking 13-21 loss to the New York Jets? Or will their record sink to 6-4?
