NFL Fantasy Football Week 13: Kicker Rankings

Fantasy Football GMs are looking for kickers ahead of Week 13
Fantasy Football GMs are looking for kickers ahead of Week 13

Heading into Week 13, kickers could still have a major impact on the success of your fantasy football team, but just who should you be looking to pick?

Justin Tucker is back on top after sliding in the fantasy rankings of late, although he isn’t too far ahead of Tyler Bass. Both kickers have been reliable through Week 12, with Tucker having scored 114 fantasy points and Bass getting 113.

Week 13 sees both premiere kickers in action, but they may well be difficult to pick up for your own team.

Who are the best available fantasy football kickers in Week 13?

#1 Justin Tucker – Baltimore Ravens vs. Denver Broncos

Justin Tucker reclaimed his position as the best kicker in fantasy football in Week 12. He outscored Tyler Bass by five points and overtook him at the summit of this leaderboard.

Tucker remains an incredibly reliable presence for the Baltimore Ravens. His kicking is incredibly accurate and he just churns out points from field goals and extra-point attempts.

It's worth noting that he's also been given plenty of chances to score points. You have to go back to September 25 to find the last time Tucker only attempted one field goal in a game.

The Ravens will be up against the Denver Broncos, who aren’t an outstanding team, in Week 13. Despite the players they have on defense, one would expect the Ravens to get plenty of joy on Sunday.

Tucker will get chances to kick and he will score you fantasy football points, making this a fairly safe pick.

#2 Tyler Bass – Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots

Tyler Bass will be looking to snatch back his crown in Week 13, but will face a difficult challenge on Thursday Night Football.

Bass and the Buffalo Bills will be up against the New England Patriots. The Patriots' defense is so strong that you can’t see this being a particularly high-scoring game for the Bills. In truth, the matchup may well come down to field goals.

Bass would welcome this situation as he hasn’t missed a single field goal in his last three games. In those games, he has had 11 attempts, making him the most in-form kicker in the NFL right now.

Picking Bass for your fantasy football team will depend entirely on how you evaluate the overall matchup between the Bills and Patriots. It will not hinge on whether Bass will make his kicks, because history has shown that he will.

#3 Nick Folk – New England Patriots vs. Buffalo Bills

Similar selection problems are present for Nick Folk. Just like with Tyler Bass, it’s too difficult to predict the pattern of the matchup to determine your kicker.

This may be why a lot of fantasy football GMs are dropping both kickers for Week 13. You could use this to your advantage and take one of them for future weeks. However, picking either of them in Week 13 is a gamble.

In terms of his on-field performances, Folk has been brilliant for the New England Patriots. In three of his last four games, he has recorded a 100% field goal success percentage.

#4 Jason Myers – Seattle Seahawks @ Los Angeles Rams

Jason Myers has fallen a bit in recent weeks but remains an outstanding option for you at the kicker position.

The Los Angeles Rams have one of the worst three offenses in the league through Week 12. Consequently, you can expect the Seattle Seahawks to be on the field on offense a lot more than normal.

Rams star Aaron Donald normally kills drives for teams, which can provide opportunities for a kicker to score fantasy points. However, with Donald set to miss the clash with Seattle through injury, there may be fewer chances for Myers to make an impact in this game.

Take this into account when finalizing your line-up. Myers will notably enter this game after scoring 10 fantasy football points in Week 12.

#5 Daniel Carlson – Las Vegas Raiders vs. Los Angeles Chargers

For weeks, many had sympathy with Daniel Carlson’s plight.

He started the 2022 season off wonderfully well, racing off in front of his kicking contemporaries. He had the most fantasy points for multiple weeks on end until the Las Vegas Raiders offense just stopped producing.

Yet, in the past two games, the Raiders have upped their game. Offensively, they have started to produce longer and more incisive drives, handing Carlson more chances to kick field goals.

Unfortunately, he hasn’t shown up nearly as well as he did at the beginning of the year. Against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 12, he had a field goal success percentage of just 66.7% and in Week 11 that was only marginally higher at 75%.

Up against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13, Carlson will need to improve his own accuracy. He needed his offense to turn things around and they did. It’s now time for the talented kicker to return the favor. Otherwise, he will drop out of the top five of these fantasy football ratings entirely.
