NFL Power Rankings Week 13: Where does every AFC team stand?

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Indianapolis Colts
Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Indianapolis Colts

Who has taken the #1 spot in the Week 13 AFC power rankings?

Top nine teams in the AFC power rankings.

#9 - Los Angeles Chargers - (6-5)

Previous Rank: 7

Next Week: vs. Cincinnati Bengals

The Chargers are 2-2 in their last four games. They lost to the Broncos and the Vikings but beat the Steelers and Eagles. There seems to be a disconnect in how to fully judge the Chargers and their wins this season. Right now, they have fallen a bit in this week's power rankings as other teams are just playing much better football.

#8 - Denver Broncos - (6-5)

Previous Rank: 11

Next Week: vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Broncos being placed low in the power rankings last week may have been a bit unfair to the team. They have won three of their last four games. The teams beaten include the Cowboys, WFT, and the Chargers. The Broncos are a sneakily good team when they want to be.

#7 - Indianapolis Colts - (6-6)

Previous Rank: 9

Next Week: vs. Houston Texans

The Colts nearly had themselves on a four-game win streak. Even more shocking was that they kept pace with the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Colts are a tough team that needs to start seeing more respect in this league. Oddly, they didn't involve Johnathan Taylor as much as they needed to last week.

#6 - Cincinnati Bengals - (7-4)

Previous Rank: 6

Next Week: vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The Bengals have rebounded and are beginning to once again look like the team they were in at the beginning of the season. With big wins over the Steelers and Raiders, the Bengals will now look to take down the Chargers next in their bid to keep pace with the Ravens in the AFC North.

#5 - Buffalo Bills - (7-4)

Previous Rank: 5

Next Week: vs. New England Patriots

The Bills were once the most feared team in the AFC power rankings and the entire league for that matter. After a few weeks in which the Bills have been humbled by the Jaguars and Colts, the Bills responded in kind with a huge win over the Saints. The Bills will have their hands full with the Patriots on Monday.

#4 - Tennesee Titans - (8-4)

Previous Rank: 1

Next Week: bye

The Titans are about to have a much-needed bye week to help the team rebound and find a way to overcome the injured players that are now holding this team back in wins and this week's power rankings. They are not the Ravens and losing A.J. Brown and Julio Jones has massively affected the team's offensive prowess.

#3 - Baltimore Ravens - (8-3)

Previous Rank: 4

Next Week: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Even with the massive number of players that seem to be injured or placed on the Covid list for the Ravens, they continue to find ways to win, even when those wins are ugly. They get a little boost in the AFC North and this week's power rankings. The team is still ripe for playoff implications, especially if they can get some of their players back.

#2 - Kansas City Chiefs - (7-4)

Previous Rank: 2

Next Week: vs. Denver Broncos

The Chiefs were on a bye week and have not fallen in the power rankings. They are just much better off than the Ravens and the Titans right now. They get a good test of their resolve by playing a tough Broncos team but should cement themselves further in their dominance of the AFC power rankings.

#1 - New England Patriots - (8-4)

Previous Rank: 2

Next Week: vs. Buffalo Bills

This is the new king of the AFC power rankings. This is the usual ground for the team that once dominated the AFC East and the AFC for the better part of 20 years.

Belichick is a master at turning "decent" players into superstars. Mac Jones is every bit as good as advertised. The New England Patriots are only getting better week by week.
