Free agent quarterback Derek Carr may already have his eyes set on where he will sign this offseason.

Carr was released by the Las Vegas Raiders on February 14, a day before his roster bonus was due for the season.

Since being released early by the Raiders, Carr has been able to negotiate, visit, and talk to teams about a possible contract. He's had multiple meetings with teams such as the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, and others.

While Carr has a lot of interest, he is leaning towards joining the New York Jets, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler:

"While the #Panthers and #Saints remain in the conversation for Derek Carr, the former Pro Bowl quarterback has a slight lean toward the #Jets as his next home as of now, per source. Nothing is final, but Jets -- who are linked to Aaron Rodgers -- have made an impression."

He notes that the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints remain in the conversation, but Carr has a slight lean towards joining the Jets.

The Jets are also interested in Aaron Rodgers, and it's all up to Rodgers if he wants to join them or not.

Should the Jets sign Derek Carr or acquire Aaron Rodgers if he wants to join the team?

It seems as if Aaron Rodgers is holding up the QB market right now.

The 39-year-old is still undecided on whether he wants to retire, play another season, or be traded to a new team.

He was supposed to have made a decision after doing his three-day darkness retreat but is still undecided.

Rodgers has accomplished many things such as winning four MVPs, a Super Bowl, and a Super Bowl MVP. The only problem with Rodgers is that he's non-comittal to playing football for a long time, and he's older now.

Rodgers has threatened/contemplated retirement multiple times even before the start of the 2021 season.

Carr hasn't had the same success as Rodgers yet, but he's eight years younger, playing good football and is looking to commit to a team for more than a season.

While acquiring Rodgers would give the Jets the best chance of winning now, Derek Carr might be the better option down the stretch.
