With the 2022 NFL trade deadline upon us, we’ve seen some huge deals made between teams up to this point. Franchises haven't been shy about spending money.

Some teams are trading away talent in return for draft capital, while others are trading for superstar players as they look to make it all the way to the Super Bowl.

Here are five of the best trade deadline moves of the 2022-23 NFL season.

#5 - Kadarius Toney to the Kansas City Chiefs

After losing Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes still looked like his old self, but that didn’t stop KC from trading for Kadarius Toney from the New York Giants.

Toney, a first-round pick just a year ago, was traded to the Chiefs for a third-round compensatory pick, as well as a sixth-rounder.

The 23-year-old has struggled to stay healthy so far in his NFL career, but has bags of potential, and if anyone can unlock that it’s Mahomes and Andy Reid.

#4 - James Robinson to the New York Jets

The New York Jets were in desperate need of running back depth after rookie sensation Breece Hall went down with a season-ending ACL injury.

That's why they traded a conditional sixth-round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars for James Robinson.

Robinson was a sensation for the Jags, but in 2022 found himself increasingly isolated in terms of carries in comparison to Travis Etienne. This deal seems to make sense for both franchises and could prove to be a win-win for all involved.

#3 - Robert Quinn to the Philadelphia Eagles

The 7-0 Philadelphia Eagles bolstered their defensive line by trading for veteran defensive end Robert Quinn from the Chicago Bears.

The Bears received a fourth-rounder in return as they look to cash in before he loses value at 32 years of age.

Despite this, he put up a monstrous 18.5 sacks in 2021 on a subpar Chicago team, so this could prove to be a shrewd pickup by the Eagles.

#2 - Deion Jones to the Cleveland Browns

Longtime Atlanta Falcons linebacker Deion Jones was traded by the team to the Cleveland Browns. The Falcons got a sixth-rounder, while also sending a seventh-round draft pick to the Browns.

Jones has been a stalwart in the Falcons defense ever since being drafted by the team back in 2016.

He was named to the Pro Bowl back in 2017, and so far in his career, he's amassed 652 tackles and 11 interceptions. He will bring a wealth of experience to an already solid Cleveland defense.

#1 - Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers

Superstar running back Christian McCaffrey was traded by the Carolina Panthers to the 49ers for a second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-round draft pick.

Despite his injury history, he’s featured prominently in 2022, seeing the 49ers pull the trigger.

So far, the move has paid off. In only his second game with the team against the Rams, he threw a touchdown, rushed for one and caught one. He became just the fourth player in NFL history to achieve the feat.
