Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are headed back to the Super Bowl after defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20. It's a perfect time to remember the iconic story of how Post Malone ended up with a their signatures tattooed on his body.

In doubles, Malone kept losing to the quarterback-tight end duo, according to Clay Skipper with GQ:

"As the pair rallied off a series of quick wins, Post Malone—wearing his brand-new Mahomes jersey, red like the Solo cups on the table—grew increasingly ruffled. Post tried switching partners. He played with a buddy. Then another. He teamed up with Swae Lee, who had joined Post on tour."

He kept losing, but refused to go to play his concert until he won:

"He needs to win a game. Finally, around the 14th or 15th game, Post decides he needs to up the stakes. He hands a piece of paper to Mahomes and Kelce, and he asks them to write their signatures, and he promises to tattoo the autographs onto his body—you know, like, permanently—if they can beat him again."

Malone loses, of course. Mahomes said:

“He has a tattoo artist literally in the room. I'm like, ‘Dude, you do not actually have to get a tattoo of our autographs.’”

Skipper continued:

"Post Malone is a man of his word, and gets his new tattoo done backstage, immediately after the show, inking onto himself a squiggly Patrick Mahomes autograph that looks like it had been written by someone who'd been drinking all day to be tattooed onto someone who'd been drinking all day."

Malone has plenty of tattoos, but this one in particular stands out given the epic story behind it.

Who will Patrick Mahomes face in the Super Bowl?

After their clutch game-winning drive, Mahomes, Kelce and the Chiefs head to the Super Bowl. It's their third trip since Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback.

They will face Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl. This will be a difficult matchup for them as the Eagles were one of the NFL's most dominant teams for much of the regular season. Hurts has only one loss as a starter this season.
