New England Patriots fans are not happy at all with Mac Jones and Bill Belichick after the team lost to the Buffalo Bills 35-23 in the season finale.

With the loss, the Patriots have been officially eliminated from playoff contention, the second time in three years without Tom Brady that New England is not going to the postseason. The team finishes 2022 with a 8-9 record.

Fans are absolutely not happy and want the franchise to get rid of both the quarterback and the head coach.

There were positive expectations for the franchise after the Patriots made the playoffs in Jones' rookie year. While they were stomped by the Bills back then, there were at least signs of a bright future, with a good quarterback at the helm coached by one of the greatest minds ever.

But New England fell off a cliff in 2022 and couldn't muster a good offense throughout the entire season. Now, fans have had enough.

Jones, Belichick, Patriots offense all disappoint in 2022: What went wrong?

The melancholic end of the season for New England had everything to do with decisions made during the offseason.

When Josh McDaniels left the offensive coordinator job to join the Las Vegas Raiders, Belichick made the most unorthodox possible move: He hired Matt Patricia, his former defensive coordinator and Detroit Lions head coach, to take over the offense. His assistant? Joe Judge, another former Belichick assistant who failed as a head coach with the New York Giants.

Mac Jones does have some talent, but he's a guy that still needs a ton of work. Belichick absolutely destroyed any hopes for the 2022 Patriots when he gave the offense's keys to Patricia, who has a defensive background and certainly wasn't the most qualified guy to develop Jones' talent.

We now have the result. Tom Brady isn't suddenly walking through the door and fixing New England's offense again. The offensive line regressed, the receiving core isn't good enough and Jones regressed badly from his rookie year. But most of the blame should be directed to Belichick, because he's the one who started all of this in the first place.
