The 2022 NFL trade deadline is only around the corner (November 1), and plenty of the league's stars could be on the move beforehand.

The Carolina Panthers traded Christian McCaffrey in a blockbuster move that saw him move to the San Francisco 49ers. James Robinson has also seen himself traded, this time from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the New York Jets.

However, many other players could see themselves with new franchises by the deadline for reasons such as falling out with coaches or tactical moves to replace injured players.

#5 - Ronald Jones

The Kansas City Chiefs only acquired running back Ronald Jones during the 2022 NFL offseason but could be ready to move on from him already.

Jones has been healthy all season but is yet to suit up in a game, as the Chiefs have Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jerrick McKinnon, and Isiah Pacheco ahead of him in the depth chart.

A running back-hungry team could pick up Jones, who will be fresh, having had no football so far this year.

#4 - Mike Gesicki

Miami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki will likely be in trade talks as the deadline looms, as it's clear he doesn't suit Mike McDaniels' new offense in Miami.

So far this year, he's on pace for his lowest yards, targets, and receptions since his rookie year, despite signing the franchise tag in the offseason.

Gesicki has said he's happy with the Dolphins, but plenty of teams will likely enquire about the Penn State alumni, who is yet to reach 200 receiving yards in 2022.

#3 - Brandin Cooks

Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks is once again the subject of trade rumors, as he might be on the move for the fourth time since being drafted in 2014.

Cooks has been consistent with the Saints, Patriots, Rams, and Texans throughout his career, putting up 1000+ yards six times so far.

This year, however, Cooks is only averaging 46 yards per game, and the Texans could look to accumulate draft capital as they rebuild. Plenty of teams will be in contact with Houston, as the speedy wideout could help unlock many NFL defenses.

#2 - Kareem Hunt

According to reports, Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt has already been discussed in trade talks. Hunt requested a trade during the offseason, as he looks like a starter in the NFL instead of a complimentary piece alongside Nick Chubb.

The Browns currently sit at 2-5 and could be in rebuilding mode, especially after giving up a haul of picks to the Texans in the Deshaun Watson trade. Hunt could start for many teams in the NFL, so a trade could work for both parties.

#1 - Cam Akers

Despite coming into the 2022 season as the Los Angeles Rams' starting running back, Cam Akers looks likely to be traded before the deadline.

Last week, head coach Sean McVay said they'd look to trade Akers so he can have a 'fresh start.' This came shortly after Akers was inactive during the Rams' week six win over the Carolina Panthers.

Akers was reportedly part of the Rams' attempt to trade for Christian McCaffrey before CMC found himself with the 49ers. It will be a surprise if Akers doesn't find himself on a new team before November 1.
