Proposed Derrick Henry trade lands Lamar Jackson elite offensive weapon for 2023 in major shakeup

Tennessee Titans v Kansas City Chiefs
Derrick Henry's pair with Lamar Jackson would be enticing

Can you imagine how difficult it would be for defenses to stop Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry if they played on the same team? This is not something unimaginable for the 2023 season. With Henry currently sitting at the trade block in Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens is a possible landing spot.

Sure, the Ravens need to figure out their situation with Lamar first, but as the days go by, chances are that Jackson will stay with the team, as no one seems interested in figuring out an offer sheet for his services.

There have also been many problems with their backfield. J.K. Dobbins, as talented as he is, has suffered many injuries in previous seasons. Stopping a team with Lamar, Henry and Dobbins, if they're all healthy, would be an incredible challenge.

Proposed trade package: The Baltimore Ravens trade their fourth-round selection (#124 overall) to the Tennessee Titans for RB Derrick Henry

Why the Ravens should trade for Derrick Henry?

The Ravens are forging a three-headed monster in the backfield with Henry, Lamar and Dobbins, making it almost impossible for defenses to defend Baltimore's running game.

There's no doubt that Dobbins is a star, with a massive 5.9 yards-per-carry average through his first two years. But, he has dealt with injuries in both seasons, adding that Henry would not only ease his workload but allow the offense to get even more creative with the running game.

Yes, of course the priority should be to get Jackson's contract done. But while they sort out the issue, loading the roster to compete for the AFC North with the Cincinnati Bengals is also something they should be doing.

Who will be the winners and losers from this trade?

The Titans would probably be happy with the deal, as rumors coming out of Tennessee say that Derrick Henry is a possible trade candidate. He's entering the final year of his contract and the team could save just over $6.26 million in cap space with the trade.

Lamar would also consider himself a winner, as he would get another weapon to pair with him. Listen, I know that the Ravens need receivers more than anything, but this would make his life easier.

Baltimore would get a star running back at a discounted price with just one year left on his contract, which is never a bad thing. They will be the winners in the deal.

On the other hand, J.K. Dobbins would see his snap count diminish, making him a loser.
