The Los Angeles Rams lost to the Detroit Lions in Week 1 of the 2024 regular season. Even worse, the team had to deal with an injury to Puka Nacua. The star wide receiver went out of the game after going down late in the 2nd quarter of the game with 6 seconds left, on a 3rd and 10 play.
Nacua broke out last year in his rookie season has been a great fantasy pick. This injury changes the outlook for the season. Should fantasy mangers be worried about his injury?
Puka Nacua Injury Update
Los Angels Rams head coach Sean McVay announced that the team is placing Puka Nacua on injury reserve. This will mean that the star wide recevier will miss out at least the next four games. Nacua's injury is a new and more significant to the same ligament he previously injured.

Earlier in the day, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Nacua's knee injury from Sunday is in fact on the same knee he had issues with last month:
"Same knee as training camp. We saw him get carted off, actually came back in, I believe it was just for one play. Got clearance to go, tried to go, could not end up pulling himself back off the field. He's going to have a test this afternoon just to determine what is going on there in his knee. No firm word yet on his status, but obviously same knee as training camp.
"Clearly an issue there, clearly in some pain that he was battling through. Wouldn't be surprised if he misses some time as he figures out and tries to improve this issue. So more info coming on Puka Nacua today, obviously we'll update that as we have it."
Nacua missed weeks of practice due to a knee injury he had during training camp before returning in time for the game against the Detroit Lions to start the regular season.
The Rams will be hoping that Nacua's injury won't keep him out for a long time after their Week 1 loss. The wide receiver had a strong showing in his first season with the Rams. He registered 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns.
What happened to Puka Nacua?
Puka Nacua was ruled out for the Los Angeles Rams in the second quarter of their game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday night due to a knee injury.
The Pro-Bowl wideout went down on his knee while making a catch, and he hobbled off the field, while the medical personnel examined him extensively in the sideline tent. He finally came back for a few plays before being substituted out again.
He was first seen having a conversation with the medical staff while sitting on the sideline bench. In the end, Tyler Johnson replaced Nacua on the field.
Nacua was later carted away from the turf. Before he left the field, he had four catches for 35 yards.
In the event that Puka Nacua has to miss games due to the knee injury, Demarcus Robinson and other wide receiver options will battle it out to take his place behind Cooper Kupp.
