Are the Los Angeles Rams looking to move on from wide receiver Allen Robinson after one season? There were rumors earlier this off-season that the team is looking to shop the wide receiver after a poor season debut with the team this past season.
Robinson was signed to a three-year $46.5 million deal with the Rams on March 17, 2022.
Joel Corry of CBS Sports wrote that the team would like to move on from Robinson and that the team has given his agent permission to seek a trade.
Corry said:
"The Rams would like to move on from wide receiver Allen Robinson after a disappointing debut season in Los Angeles. Robinson signed a three-year, $46.5 million contract (worth up to $48 million through incentives) with $30.75 million fully guaranteed last March. His agent has been given permission to seek a trade."
Allen had a rather disappointing season with the Rams in 2023. He started in the first 10 games of the season for the Rams and recorded 33 catches for 339 yards and three touchdowns. He was placed on injured reserve on November 29, 2023 and missed the rest of the season.
The Los Angeles Rams are in rebuild mode and could continue by getting rid of Allen Robinson
The Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl during the 2021-2022 season and are now in full rebuild mode. After finishing as Super Bowl champs two seasons ago, they finished last season 5-12 and in third place in the NFC West division.
After a down season, the team is looking to rebuild, get younger, and get rid of contracts. They released Bobby Wagner, who was named an All-Pro in his first season with the Rams.
Shortly after, they traded star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins. The move freed up $5.6 million in cap space. The team also departed from edge rusher Leonard Floyd as they released him as the new league year began and the team saved $3 million in cap space.
There were rumors of the Rams shopping Matthew Stafford that the team quickly shot down.
Robinson could be on the move next for the Rams as they look to rebuild and get younger, and more moves could be made to their roster this off-season.
