Quarterback Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos are having a rough 2022-23 season, which is putting it nicely. The Broncos have lost three straight games, including their Week 12 loss to the Carolina Panthers 23-10.
The Broncos' concern on offense reached a tipping point during their recent performance, with players voicing their dissatisfaction.
The Broncos allowed a 36-yard field goal by the Panthers kicker Eddy Pineiro, extending their lead to 23-7 in the fourth quarter. Afterwards, Broncos defensive tackle Mike Purcell was seen yelling at Wilson on the sidelines as the team's offense was getting ready to take the field.
Per Purcell, the conversation, which didn't seem to be cordial, was done with the anticipation of bringing life to a dull offense. The defensive tackle spoke to the media after the loss to explain more on what happened between him and Wilson.
"Frustration. We want a spark on something. We're all in this together, period. That's the quarterback of our offense. They were about to take the field. Obviously, we let up a touchdown so we weren't doing our job, but gotta get a spark somewhere."

Russell Wilson was given a five-year, $245 million contract by the Denver Broncos back in September to be the franchise quarterback. However, he looked far from being a franchise quarterback in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers.
The former Seattle Seahawks star went 19 of 35 passing for 142 yards and a touchdown.
The game marked the third time he's thrown for under 200 yards passing and the fifth time with a quarterback rating of under 80. He had a quarterback rating of 73.6 versus the Panthers.
After the loss, the Broncos sit with a 3-8 record as one of the NFL's worst teams. The season started out with Super Bowl exceptions for Russell Wilson. Now, it's about playing well down the stretch for the nine-time Pro Bowler.
