What can we say about Kyle Pitts' fantasy outlook that Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris hasn't said already?
If you thought Pitts would rise from the ashes of the Arthur Smith regime like a man reborn, you have reason to hold a grudge. As we head into Week 5 with the Falcons on a short turnaround for Thursday Night Football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, here's what you need to do if you have Kyle Pitts on your fantasy roster.

Should I drop Kyle Pitts?
When it comes to Pitts, the decision may not be as head-scratching as we're making it out to be.
But before we get into that, here's a primer on The Kyle Pitts Conundrum™. Through four weeks of football, the Falcons tight end has a grand total of eight catches for 105 yards on 15 targets. As a rookie, he racked up 1,026 yards on volume but that was in 2021.
Things have changed and how.
In 2024, the Falcons don't appear to have any plans on getting Pitts involved in the offense regularly. Against the New Orleans Saints in Week 4, he didn't log a single catch. The Falcons still picked up the win though. When Morris was asked about Pitt's lack of involvement, the Falcons HC said, and I quote:
“It was just about going out there and winning the game. Stats are for losers, man. I don’t get involved in that stuff.”
There are few things more maddening than a lack of consistency at the tight end position and right now, there's just no indication that the Falcons will get Pitts involved. Even if they do, don't expect him to hit the numbers he did in his rookie season. It's unlikely he will come close to that production.
At this point, there are two things you can do: Drop him or trade him.
Few tight ends will deliver consistent value this season, as has been the case with multiple star tight ends. But if you drop him, there's no value on the waiver wire either.
Let's face it. You're stuck with Pitts. Dropping him won't solve your problems. He may not come anywhere close to hitting the 1,000-yard mark he did as a rookie but there is a faint chance the Falcons could get him involved down the line, even if it's not at volume.
Kyle Pitts' fantasy projection for Week 5 TNF
For the Bucs-Falcons game, there's not much separating Pitts and Cade Otton.

Sportskeeda's Start/Sit Optimizer isn't too high on either, but Pitts could marginally surpass Otton's production.
