Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver Rashee Rice underwent knee surgery last week, shutting down the possibility of seeing him back again this season.
With the Chiefs returning from their bye week, the 49ers will welcome them back to action in a Super Bowl XLVIII rematch. Rice's status for this week hasn't changed, but it's worth asking if he should be dropped by fantasy managers.
Should I drop Rashee Rice in Week 7 fantasy football?

After undergoing surgery to repair the posterolateral corner of his right knee, Chiefs coach Andy Reid announced that Rice is now embarking on his rehab process.

"It's probably the same result you get time-wise as an ACL. It takes a while for that to come back," Reid said, per NBC Sports. "He'll get into his rehab and get rolling on that as we go here."
That said, it'd be smart to drop Rice this week, as he won't be coming back until next season. This was another blow for the Chiefs, especially on offense. Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown suffered a shoulder injury before the season and Isiah Pacheco fractured his right fibula early on.
Rashee Rice's fantasy outlook for the rest of the 2024 season
Despite being out of action for several months, Rashee Rice will still be in the rankings for the rest of the 2024 NFL season. He's expected to finish the season as the WR127, according to Fantasy Pros.
Of course, he won't add more numbers to his stats and will stay with what he did before colliding with Patrick Mahomes to miss the rest of the campaign. In four games this season, Rice recorded 24 receptions for 278 yards and two touchdowns.
Following a solid rookie season, he looked poised to raise the bar even higher. Unfortunately, a collision with his quarterback cut his season short in what could be a historic campaign for the Chiefs.
