Taysom Hill and the New Orleans Saints are returning to action after their bye week. They entered the week off amid a two-game winning streak, including a humbling 35-14 win against the Cleveland Browns, with Hill going off on the AFC North squad.
They'll face the LA Rams on Sunday, hoping to extend their good moment. Hill should be one of the players to follow against the Rams, and the numbers suggest that he must be considered a serious threat and favorite to start in fantasy teams this weekend.
Taysom Hill's fantasy outlook for Week 13
Taysom Hill has only racked up 92.64 fantasy points this season, a poor number in comparison to other tight ends. That said, he's considered TE5 by ESPN this week, trailing Brock Bowers (15.38 fantasy points), George Kittle (14.14), Travis Kelce (13.66) and Trey McBride (13.64).
Hill is projected to be targeted four times, resulting in three passes for a 35-yard gain. He's expected to carry the ball five times and tally 29 rushing yards for a total production of 12.97 fantasy points.
He would have a major challenge in front, however, as the Rams have only allowed 7.18 fantasy points to tight ends this season. More than that, they haven't allowed 10.0 fantasy points to this position since Week 8 against the Minnesota Vikings.
After that, they allowed two points to the Seattle Seahawks, five points to the Miami Dolphins, nine to the New England Patriots and one against the Philadelphia Eagles.
To make things more interesting, Los Angeles hasn't been the most consistent team this season. After beating the Vikings 30-20 in Week 8 and the Seahawks in Week 9, they succumbed to the Miami Dolphins 23-15. They defeated a weak Patriots team by only six points before losing to the Eagles 37-20.
Taysom Hill and the Saints had a tumultuous start to the season, scoring over 80 points in the first two matchups before dropping seven consecutive games. They returned to winning ways against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10 before beating the Browns with a strong fourth-quarter performance, 35-14.
Hill stole the show that afternoon, completing one of two pass attempts for 18 passing yards, rushing the ball seven times for a 138-yard gain and three rushing touchdowns. He also caught eight passes for 50 passing yards to close out a magical game.
