Steelers injury report: Updates for T.J. Watt, Jaylen Warren and others in Week 13

T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers warms up prior to a game

Before their Sunday away game against the Atlanta Falcons, the Pittsburgh Steelers made public their third official injury report for Week 13.

Cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon is still struggling with a hamstring issue and Isaiahh Loudermilk is reportedly absent due to personal matters. Linebacker T.J. Watt and running back Jaylen Warren were both listed as questionable. Warren trained extensively but is still healing from a hamstring issue, while Watt was restricted all week due to a rib injury.

In addition to not skipping any practice sessions after missing last week, Warren told the media that he is well enough to play. Watt, however, did not put in am entire week of practice.

Anthony McFarland and David Anenih are likely contenders for promotion from the practice team if T.J. Watt isn't able to play. DeMarvin Leal could also play outside linebacker, but he would first need to be brought off injured reserve and added to the roster.

After Najee Harris made his first comeback to practice from an oblique injury, the Steelers removed him from the injury report.

Jaylen Warren has only taken three total snaps since his hamstring problem in Week 10. It is uncertain how much of a part he will play against the Atlanta Falcons with Harris fit. Warren has averaged 5.0 yards per rush and 8.6 yards per catch this season.

As the season progresses, the depth chart has become much clearer. However, injuries continue to be a factor in determining snap counts.

The Steelers' record without T.J. Watt

The Steelers have a 1-10 record without the current Defensive Player of the Year in the squad. Ergo, Watt's availability is significant here.

Positive news for Pittsburgh came in the form of running back Najee Harris being removed from the injury report after departing Monday night's victory over the Indianapolis Colts early due to an oblique injury.

With Watt questionable, the likelihood is that he will play this week. Another loss for Pittsburgh will extinguish any playoff hopes they currently have. This is a game that could easily go either way and T.J. Watt will likely play an important role.
