We’ve seen a lot of legendary quarterbacks come and go throughout NFL history. Joe Montana, Johnny Unitas, Dan Marino, Drew Brees and John Elway are a few great examples.
Most experts and fans believe Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback the NFL has ever seen. And he just might be the greatest of all time, considering that he has a ridiculous seven Super Bowl victories, five Super Bowl MVPs, three regular season MVPs and many more achievements on his resume.
While Brady has accomplished more than any other quarterback in history, he isn’t the most talented quarterback ever. He didn’t have the strongest arm, and he certainly wasn’t the most athletic player we’ve ever seen.
Here are three signal-callers who had/have all the talent in the world:
#1 - Peyton Manning
Peyton Manning is known for his “laser rocket” arm, which helped him throw for over 4,000 yards in 14 of his 18 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos.
He produced a record-setting 5,477 passing yards and 55 touchdowns during the 2013 season. Both records still stand today.
Manning put together an illustrious career, winning two Super Bowls and a Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award, as well as being named to the Pro Bowl on 14 occasions. And his five regular-season MVPs are the most in NFL history.
Brady is considered the GOAT, but you've got to put Manning No.1 on the "Most Talented" list.
#2 - Patrick Mahomes
The start of Patrick Mahomes’ career just doesn’t seem real. Recently completing his fifth season as a starter, the Texas native has won two Super Bowls, two Super Bowl MVPs and two NFL MVPs.
That’s not bad at all for somebody who’s only 27 years old. His career has been so great thus far that he could retire right now and be a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
Mahomes has a cannon for an arm, and if he can stay healthy for a long time, he could eventually join Brady and Montana in the “G.O.A.T” conversation.
#3 - Aaron Rodgers
It will be interesting to see what happens to Aaron Rodgers this offseason. Will he retire, stay with the Green Bay Packers or get traded to another team like the Las Vegas Raiders or New York Jets?
If he ends up playing next season, whatever team he’s on will possess one of the most talented QB’s to ever set foot on an NFL field.
Rodgers has won a Super Bowl, a Super Bowl MVP and four regular-season MVPs. He’s also the “King of Hail Mary” as he has completed multiple successful Hail Mary plays throughout his memorable career.
