Star running back Tony Pollard has become a source of concern for fantasy managers in the last two days. The struggling Tennessee Titans will face another team trying to turn things around in a complex 2024 NFL season, but Pollard might be unavailable for this contest if his situation doesn't improve quickly.

Titans beat writer Terry McCormick reported on Thursday that Pollard wasn't with the rest of his teammates in the open part of the team's practice.

"Not seen in open part of #Titans practice today: Tyjae Spears, Tony Pollard, Amani Hooker, L'Jarius Sneed, Dillon Radunz, Andrew Rupcich, Tyler Boyd, T'Vondre Sweat. Will Levis practiced again today and looked good throwing for a second straight day," McCormick tweeted.

Tony Pollard injury update: What happened to Titans star RB?

Tony Pollard's absence from practice is due to a foot injury. The Titans have listed him as DNP on Wednesday and Thursday, and they will be waiting to see how he does (if he does) on Friday to define his availability against the Patriots.

Pollard has carried the ball at least 18 times in the past four games, which explains how important he's become for the Titans. In case he can't be ready for Sunday's contest, another player who wasn't seen on practice, Tyjae Spears (hamstring) and Julius Chestnut, would step up in a potential Pollard's absence.

To make a decision about Pollard's situation for Sunday, fantasy managers would be better off waiting for Friday's injury report. He could still be questionable for Week 9, which doesn't close the door on a potential appearance against the AFC East division.

Tony Pollard is having a solid first year with the Titans

Tony Pollard spent the last five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, improving his game season after season and becoming one of the most underrated yet effective running backs.

He's played seven games with the Titans this season, racking up 114 carries for 494 rushing yards and three touchdowns. He's also been a solid receiver, catching 21 passes for 109 receiving yards. The Titans aren't the best NFL team, but Pollard was one of the best things they had to show this campaign.
