Troy Franklin was selected by the Denver Broncos with the 102nd overall pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He will be a part of their brand new offense for the upcoming season after making significant changes during the offseason. This includes moving on from Russell Wilson and Jerry Jeudy as they look to get back into playoff contention.

This creates an interesting situation for Franklin in fantasy football as he will likely have an opportunity to compete for a starting role. He will still enter the year with significant risk in fantasy drafts as his playing time and workload are relatively unknown at this point. Here's where the rookie's outlook currently stands.

Troy Franklin spent all three seasons of his college football career with the Oregon Ducks. He increased his overall output during each year with the team on his way to becoming a superstar in his final season. His massive last season with the Ducks included 81 receptions for 1,383 yards and 14 touchdowns, bringing his career totals to 160 receptions for 2,483 yards and 25 touchdowns across three seasons.

The Denver Broncos moved on from quarterback Russell Wilson during the offseason and replaced him with rookie Bo Nix, who they selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. They paired their new quarterback with his top wide receiver in college, as Nix and Franklin played together at Oregon. They will look to bring their elite chemistry as a duo to the NFL.

The Broncos also decided to move on from Jerry Jeudy this year, so Franklin may have a shot at entering the starting lineup across from Courtland Sutton. He will likely compete with Marvin Mims for targets, but Franklin's workload could benefit from his history with Nix. This makes the wide receiver an intriguing option in fantasy football with more upside than most other rookies this year.

Where should you draft Troy Franklin this year?

Troy Franklin hold his most fantasy football value in Dynasty leagues, as most rookies do. The multi-year format will allow him time to develop his game and establish a role in the Broncos' offense. He is a solid mid-round target in this format, but also carries enough upside in traditional season-long leagues to deserve a shot as a late-round flier.

Managers considering taking Franklin in their upcoming fantasy drafts should reference Sportskeeda's Who Should I Draft tool. This will allow them to compare his fantasy projections to other relevant options and make an informed decision on whether or not he is the best pick when they are on the clock.
