Week 18 playoff scenarios 2023: Where do Aaron Rodgers’ Packers stand, and which of Eagles/Cowboys will face Tom Brady’s Buccaneers?

As Week 17 is set to conclude tonight with a matchup between two top AFC teams, many playoff scenarios remain in play following the action that took place yesterday.

Yesterday, the Commanders lost to the Browns in Week 17, and the Packers destroyed their NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings, to eliminate the Commanders from playoff contention and to keep their hopes alive. The Detroit Lions decimated the Chicago Bears yesterday to keep their playoff hopes alive as well.

Green Bay will face their divisional rival, the Detroit Lions, in Week 18 to close out the regular season. The Packers have one basic playoff scenario for Week 18. Win and they're in, but it won't come against an easy opponent as the Lions are hoping to make the playoffs themselves.

As for the NFC East, both the Philadelphia Eagles (13-3) and Dallas Cowboys (12-4) have clinched playoff berths.

If Philly wins Sunday versus the Giants, they will win the division. If they lose and the Cowboys beat the Commanders, then Dallas will win the division. If both teams lose, Philly will win the NFC East.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the NFC South Division yesterday with a victory over their rival, the Carolina Panthers.

Since Tampa is a division winner, they will get the fourth-seed in the NFC and will host the fifth-seeded wildcard team, which will likely be the Dallas Cowboys or the Philadelphia Eagles.

With one week left of the regular season, there are only three spots that need to be filled. The AFC South Division, as well as the last wildcard spot in the conference, are up for grabs.

In the NFC, three divisions have been won, with just one wildcard spot left up for grabs.

Teams that have already clinched a playoff spot include the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers, Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Chiefs and Bills are the only two teams from the four conferences in the AFC to clinch their divisions. The Bucs, Vikings, and 49ers are the three divsional winners in the NFC North right now.

The AFC South winner will be determined Saturday night as the Jagaurs host the Titans for the division title.

Week 18 will determine everything, and each game is important for who gets in and who doesn't.
