Week 8 of the 2024 fantasy football season has officially arrived and managers must now begin finalizing their lineups. Finding the best running backs to use in weekly lineups is crucial to sustained success, as well as knowing which ones to avoid. Here are some of the best targets and fades this week.

Fantasy Football Week 8 RBs Start 'Em picks

Joe Mixon is one of the best overall running backs to target for Week 8 fantasy football lineups. He has appeared in just four games for the Houston Texans this year but has finished as the RB4 or better in three of them. He has a strong chance of continuing his dominant run against the Indianapolis Colts, who rank towards the bottom of the NFL in most defensive categories.

He is joined by Javonte Williams, who is coming off of a season-best RB6 finish in fantasy football last week. His role with the Denver Broncos has recently increased as he has set season-highs in carries in three of his past four games. He will look to keep that rolling against the Carolina Panthers, who are currently allowing the most fantasy points per game to running backs.

Fantasy Football Week 8 RBs Sit 'Em picks

Tony Pollard is among the top running backs that should be faded in Week 8 fantasy lineups. He turned in a disappointing RB31 finish last week, which was his second-worst of the entire 2024 season so far. He will also be extremely difficult to trust when the Tennessee Titans face off against the Detroit Lions, one of the best-rushing defenses in the NFL.

Chuba Hubbard is another running back to avoid this week, despite his strong season with the Carolina Panthers so far. While he currently ranks as the overall RB10 this year, he draws an extremely difficult matchup against the Denver Broncos' elite defense. This makes him a fade in Week 8 fantasy football.
