Hillis, according to KNWA, was flown by helicopter to a nearby hospital after he saved his children from a swimming mishap in Pensacola, Florida. Greg Hillis, his uncle, wrote the following on Facebook:

"He's still in intensive care and having some problems with his kidneys and his lungs but the doctors say he is improving. I'm sure he would want everyone to know that he appreciates all of the prayers being thrown up on his behalf!!!"

Later, Peyton's uncle Greg posted on Facebook that the former running back had kidney and lung problems, but that his health was gradually getting better. He also affirmed the well-being of Peyton's children.
