A handful of months ago, the Las Vegas Raiders headed into the 2022 season with hopes of expanding on their postseason journey from the season prior.

Now entering Week 10, the Silver and Black find themselves with a record of 2-6.

Things surely couldn't get any worse. But they did. On Thursday, Las Vegas announced tight end Darren Waller was hitting the Injured Reserve list.

Shortly after, the team let it be known receiver Hunter Renfrow was joining Waller.

Renfrow, dealing with both rib and hamstring injuries, according to the Raiders' injury report, will miss a minimum of four weeks as a result of being designated to the I.R. list.

Not only will the 26-year-old miss Las Vegas' upcoming contest against the Indianapolis Colts, but he will also be unavailable for the showdowns with Denver, Seattle, and division rivals Los Angeles Chargers.

Renfrow was a Pro Bowler a season ago, helping the Silver and Black rebound from a 6-7 record to make the postseason.

The Raiders' fifth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft was masterful during the 2021 campaign. This season, however, is much different, and not for the better.

Renfrow ended the 2021 season recording 1,038 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. The Pro Bowl receiver logged a drop rate of 1.6%, earning a grade of 80.6 via Pro Football Focus.

Things really picked up for Renfrow following the Henry Ruggs tragedy, which left Renfrow as Derek Carr's top target with Pro Bowl teammate Darren Waller battling injury.

After the bye week during Week 8, when the Ruggs tragedy happened, only one week passed where Renfrow failed to post, at least, 30 receiving yards.

For comparison, Renfrow has only surpassed that same 30-yard mark on 33% of his games played this season.

Prior to landing on the Injured Reserve list, the Clemson alum had a goose egg in the touchdown column, averaging a mere 32 yards per game. This number would give Renfrow 544 receiving yards at the season's end, had he kept the same pace and played all 17 games this season.

Renfrow's low this season came in the contest against Arizona, where the 5'10" receiver fumbled on back-to-back plays in overtime. The Raiders were able to recover the first fumble, but the second resulted in a game-winning touchdown return by Byron Murphy.

Pro Football Focus has given Renfrow a grade of 60.3 for his efforts this season -- a 25% decrease from 2021.

Renfrow received a two-year, $32 million extension this offseason. You can bet neither party is happy about how things have transpired since.
