The Green Bay Packers found a gem in Jayden Reed last season. The second-year wide receiver had already shown glimpses of his brilliance in 2023 and he's off to a remarkable start this season. Once they entered their generational replacement, going from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan Love at quarterback, the team's front office brought more weapons for the young play-caller.
One of those names that made it to Lambeau Field was Jayden Reed, born on April 28, 2000, in Aurora Illinois. His mother Kesha and his late father Sabian Reed, a sports enthusiast, always support Jayden's goal to make it to the big league. After losing him on September 13, 2015, the kid didn't stop working until he became a pro.
Jayden Reed attended Naperville Central High School, where he turned a lot of heads thanks to his speed and route-running ability. Initially, he made it to college at Western Michigan, where he'd prove himself, earning All-American honors. In 2019, he transferred to Michigan State but had to wait one season before suiting up for the Spartans.

Reed's first season with the Spartans finished with 33 receptions for 407 yards and three scores, as the COVID-19 crisis started and sports competitions were shut down.
He returned to the field the following year, taking those numbers up, getting 59 receptions for 1,026 and 10 touchdowns. His 2022 season wasn't as good as the prior one, but he still turned heads. The Packers picked him with the No. 19 pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Jayden Reed, just like the Packers, was trying to figure it out last season. That included having the chance to play as a wide receiver but also get touches as a running back. She played 16 games in 2023, getting 64 receptions for 793 yards and eight touchdowns.
Jayden Reed’s NFL Combine performance in the spotlight
Jayden Reed showed intriguing traits during his combine, starting with a 40-yard dash of 4.45 seconds. He recorded 1.57 seconds in the 10-yard split, had a 33.5" vertical jump, a 10'1" broad jump and registered 4.29 seconds in the 20-yard shuttle.
He was given a 74 production score (13th among WRs), 72 in athleticism score (32nd) and a total score of 74 (15th). Reed showed off his versatility in his first season with the Packers, joining AJ Dillon, Aaron Jones and Romeo Doubs in helping Jordan Love take the Packers to the postseason.
They eventually lost in the second round against the San Francisco 49ers, but the expectations are high for Reed and the Packers this campaign.
