The New York Jets are preparing for a crucial 2024 season following a dismal 2023 campaign. The team's rhythm was thrown off last year because veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles just four snaps into the campaign.

The Jets will start training camp drills on July 24 at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, New Jersey. There, the Jets can set up camp nearer to their main fan base in the New York/North Jersey region.

There are many reasons to be optimistic as the Jets try to snap their postseason drought in 2024, with Aaron Rodgers poised to lead the team. We'll examine a few players to keep an eye on during NYJ's 2024 training camp below.

Players to watch out for at Jets' training camp 2024

Below, we have looked at five players to pay attention to at Jets training camp 2024:

1) Malachi Corley, Wide Receiver

Training camp should provide Malachi Corley, selected by the New York Jets with the 65th overall choice in the third round of the 2024 NFL draft, with a legitimate opportunity to show his abilities.

The Jets need a lot more receiving production from other wideouts to go along with rising standout Garrett Wilson. Maybe building practice reps with Aaron Rodgers will help coaches determine just how much of an impact Corley can make during the season.

2) Aaron Rodgers, quarterback

Aaron Rodgers' training camp look will reveal if he's truly fully fit. The Achilles injury that sidelined the seasoned quarterback for all but one game last season appears to have healed completely, but it has also raised rather unrealistic hopes that he will perform at his peak once more.

Given that the other players on the roster — at least theoretically — seem to be in place, the Jets have a strong chance of being markedly successful this year if Aaron Rodgers displays physical readiness throughout training camp.

3) Jaylen Key, Safety

This year's Mr. Irrelevant, Jaylen Key, played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide and UAB Blazers. The Jets selected him with the final pick of the 2024 NFL draft.

Key is currently anticipated to wind up on the Jets practice squad, but he will have lots of chances to play and make an impression in training camp and during the preseason. If he makes an impression, performs well on special teams and perhaps fills in other roles, he could smuggle himself onto the final roster.

4) Eric Watts, Defensive Lineman

Eric Watts agreed to a contract with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent following the NFL draft. He did admirably at the team's minicamp earlier in the offseason, but he will have more chances to prove himself and secure a spot on the final roster during training camp. It will be a big feat for him to secure a roster spot, considering the number of veterans the Jets have on their formidable defensive line.

5) Zaire Barnes, Linebacker

Zaire Barnes attended Western Michigan for his college football career before the Jets selected him 184th overall in the sixth round of the NFL draft last year.

Barnes looked good for the Jets before suffering an injury in last year's preseason. He did not play in many games in 2023. When he did, it was solely as a member of the special teams.

Barnes' talent was evident last year, but he will have challenges in the form of other players vying for roster places this year. However, if he can maintain his health and play well in training camp and the preseason, he still has a chance.
