Deanna Tynes Favre is the spouse of former NFL quarterback Brett Favre. She is the founder and CEO of the Deanna Favre Hope Foundation and a professional author.

Deanna Favre was born in Gulfport on December 28, 1968, and was raised in Kiln, Mississippi. Kerry Tynes is Deanne's step-father, who adopted her after marrying her mother Anne. Favre has two siblings, sister Christie and brother Casey.

Sadly, on October 6th, 2004, Casey Tynes, Deanna's 24-year-old brother, was killed in a car accident.

Deanna Favre educational background

Deanna Favre completed her secondary education at Hancock North Central High School. She graduated in 1986 and received a basketball scholarship before enrolling at a community college in Poplarville, Mississippi.

However, she promptly changed schools and enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi, where she graduated in December 1994 with a B.A. in exercise science.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, Favre fought the illness bravely and later served as a spokesperson for it. She sold pink Green Bay Packers hats to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. During the first half of 2005, she sold more of the pink hats than the Packers caps themselves.

The Atlanta Falcons selected Brett Favre as the 33rd overall pick in round two of the 1991 NFL draft. A season later, the Falcons traded Favre to the Green Bay Packers for a first-round pick.

He then went on to play 16 seasons with the Green Bay Packers from 1992 to 2007. During his time with Packers, he started in 253 out of 255 games and threw for 61,655 yards with 442 touchdowns and 282 interceptions. He had a pass completion percentage of 61.4 and a winning record of 163-93-0.

In 2008, he moved to the New York Jets and played one season with them with a 9-7 record. He played his last two seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and made the decision to retire after the 2010 season.

Brett Favre won a Super Bowl title when the Packers defeated the New England Patriots 35-21 in Super Bowl XXXI.

Upon his retirement, Favre held the league's top spot in passing yards, touchdowns, and quarterback wins. In 2016, he received his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Favre gained notoriety in 2022 as a result of his participation in the Mississippi welfare funding controversy. Investigations revealed that $8 million of funds intended for social initiatives were instead given to Favre or groups he supported.
