Following Ben Roethlisberger, Patrick Mahomes, and Tom Brady as the youngest quarterbacks to play in a Super Bowl, Joe Burrow is next. His parents did acknowledge, though, that it was "a little bit of a surprise" that their child and the Cincinnati Bengals reached the Super Bowl in only his second year.

That said, who are Joe Burrow's parents?

Joe Burrow's dad, Jimmy Burrow

Jim Burrow was an All-Star defensive back in the NFL and Canadian Football League. He was also a coach before his retirement.

Jimmy played football before he started coaching. He enrolled at Ole Miss to start his college experience before moving to Nebraska. The Green Bay Packers selected him in the eighth round of the 1976 NFL draft. He appeared in three contests as a cornerback for the Packers.

Jimmy subsequently spent five successful years in the Canadian Football League.

Jim recently spoke in an interview about Joe growing up.

According to Joe's father:

"Joe never made friends based on where they were from or how much money their parents made. He was always conscious of his starving colleagues and classmates. He witnessed it personally."

Joe Burrow's mother, Robin Burrow

Joe's mother, Robin Burrow, serves as the administrator of Eastern Elementary School in Appalachian Meigs County, Ohio. Robin is a senior executive of the Appalachian Children's Coalition in addition to her duties as a school principal. The coalition's objective is "to help improve the health and well-being of our region's children."

In response to her son's now-famous calmness, Robin added:

"I think that makes him confident. Joe has always been focused on ensuring that he's prepared for whatever he's getting ready to do, whether that was: sports or academics or something else in life."

Joe was brought up in Athens, Ohio. In this small college town, his dad served as the defensive coordinator for the football team at Ohio University until his retirement in 2018.

Since the now-Bengals quarterback moved from Ohio State to LSU, his mother has begun attending Tigers games.

Joe hails from a sporting family since his older siblings, Jamie and Dan, were Nebraska Husker football players.

Many Ohioans who believed in Joe Burrow's ability were not surprised by his ascent to fame. However, his parents have the utmost confidence in his skills.
