Marcus Mariota grabbed headlines on Tuesday after he was released by the Atlanta Falcons. The quarterback was offloaded by the team after just one season in which he played 13 games.

With the spotlight now on Mariota, fans have been curious to learn more about his personal life, especially his wife, Kiyomi Cook.

Kiyomi grew up in Gresham, Oregon and has a sister named Kerri and a brother named Kevin. She attended Sam Barlow High School and was an athlete who enjoyed playing soccer.

She was chosen as the first all-conference and second-team all-state and continued to be involved in sports until she finished college at the University of Oregon, where she met Marcus in 2014.

Marcus and Kiyomi began dating soon after getting to know each other and made their relationship public in 2015.

Kiyomi currently uses her experience as a soccer player as a coach at Nashville Football Club. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology.

She married Marcus in 2021 in Hawaii. Their wedding took place in a beautiful outdoor setting that overlooked the sea of Oahu.

Marcus Mariota was picked second overall by the Tennessee Titans in the 2015 NFL draft and spent five seasons with the team before joining the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020.

After spending two years as a backup quarterback for the Raiders, Mariota joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2022 in a bid to play regular football. The quarterback signed a two-year deal with the franchise but was released in the 2023 off-season after a poor showing.

Mariota finished his stint in Atlanta by throwing for 2,219 yards with 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions across 13 games. He was benched for the last four games of the season as the Falcons started Desmond Ridder.

In total, the player has racked up 15,656 passing yards, throwing 92 touchdowns and 54 interceptions after eight seasons in the NFL and also has 2,012 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground.
