Who is Ravens 3rd string QB Anthony Brown? Here are the latest updates on Ravens starting QB vs. Bengals on Sunday

In the final game of the regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals, Anthony Brown started for the first time in his career, while Tyler Huntley and Lamar Jackson were out due to injuries.

Despite only averaging 6.5 yards per attempt and tossing two interceptions immediately resulting in Bengals scores, the Baltimore Ravens had no qualms about allowing him to throw. Even though it would be unexpected to see Brown start again, the two teams will face off again in the wild-card stage.

In the team's final four games before Week 18, Huntley was named the starting quarterback in place of Lamar Jackson, who has been sidelined with a knee issue since December. Since Lamar Jackson is injured, Baltimore has been 2-3. The group is nonetheless upbeat about Jackson's prospects of playing in the wild-card knockout game this weekend.

Brown, a rookie out of Oregon who went undrafted, was only starting his first game. He played for Boston College for three of his five years and Oregon for the other two. In 2021, he had his most outstanding season, throwing for 2,989 yards, rushing for 658 yards, and scoring 28 TDs for Oregon.

Brown has now joined Tyler Huntley and Anthony Wright as part of the undrafted rookie starters for the Ravens this season. Anthony Brown has only appeared in one game this campaign, Week 14's matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he completed 3-of-5 passes for 16 yards.

In Sunday's 27-16 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals, Anthony Brown hit the target with 19 of 44 throws for 286 yards, two interceptions, and zero touchdowns.

Will Anthony Brown get the nod again on Sunday?

Having missed practice once more on Wednesday, Lamar Jackson's participation in the team's wild-card game versus the Cincinnati Bengals is questionable.

Coach of the Ravens, John Harbaugh, responded, "I don't have anything to add on that," when asked if Jackson would not play in the playoff game on Sunday. "No updates as of yet."

Once again, it appears Tyler Huntley or Anthony Brown will be given the start for the offensively inept club. Without Jackson, they are only recording 12.5 points per game on average.

In the regular season, Jackson completed 62.3% of his throws for 2,242 yards, 17 TDs, and seven interceptions while rushing for 764 yards and three scores. As in previous seasons, Huntley has looked good in his place. But to put it simply, they are entirely different players.

Huntley might or might not take Jackson's position on Sunday due to his injury. He might not play, according to the way things are going. Anthony Brown will take over as the Baltimore Ravens' primary option after Huntley.
