Travis Kelce and Kayla Nicole officially called it quits in May 2022, after five years of dating. Reports claimed that their split was driven by the Kansas City Chiefs star's tight grip on his wallet during their relationship.

A source close to the then-celebrity couple said that Kayla broke things off with the tight end due to Travis putting a 50/50 rule in place. Apparently, the Chiefs star made Kayla split every bill down the middle, including dinners, trips and more.

This raised eyebrows because Travis has made a reported $ 64.7 million across 10 years with the Chiefs alone. However, the Kansas City superstar vehemently denied those rumors earlier this year when he appeared on "The Pivot Podcast."

"How crazy is that?! Don't buy into that s***! We were in a relationship for 5 years," Kelce added. "A hundred dollars here and hundred dollars there wasn't even thought about, which is ridiculous."

Travis also explained that Kayla was financially stable and that she never needed any financial support from him. Even Kayla was quick to rubbish those rumors.

What's true, however, is that Kayla and Travis are no longer together. They removed all photos of each other from their respective Instagram pages soon after their break up.

It remains unclear why Travis and Kayla split and it seems that both parties are remaining mum on the topic.
