Tyler Huntley has been in the headlines for the Miami Dolphins ahead of their Week 4 clash with the Tennessee Titans. The quarterback, who's set to start for Miami on Monday night, is also commonly known as "Snoop," which has stuck with him since high school.
As per reports, Huntley received his nickname "Snoop" from his former football coach at Hallandale High School in Hallandale Beach, Florida. As you would have guessed it, he got the name due to his resemblance with Long Beach-based rapper Snoop Dogg.
Huntley also acknowledged that he used to look like rap legend Snoop Dogg when he was younger but not anymore.

"My mama would prefer Tyler, but you know, everybody tends to call me Snoop," Huntley said in the Dolphins locker room on Wednesday. "So you can call me Snoop.

Huntley has met rapper Snoop Dogg twice.
"Yeah, definitely," Huntley said. "I met him (Snoop Dogg) at the Pro Bowl and then I met him last year when we went out to L.A. for a game."
Huntley also explained how he got his nickname during an Instagram live session with his then-Baltimore Ravens teammate Marlon Humphrey in 2022.
"Long story short," Huntley said, "I was skinny with long hair. Got the name 'Snoop.'"
When Huntley played college football at Utah, his Utes teammates often got together to chant "Snoop" during his media duties. Tyler Huntley, who appears to be fond of his nickname, also uses "Snoop" on Instagram and X.
