Will any QB ever scale the peak of Tom Brady’s age 45 season?

Baltimore Ravens v Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The timeless wonder seems to never age

Tom Brady is an absolutely special NFL player for a lot of reasons. Most players do not share his pure dedication to the game and his refusal to accept anything but historic greatness.

Not a single player has matched his success, either. The quarterback has seven Super Bowl rings thus far and could add another before he officially calls it quits.

There are very few people (coaches included) who have that many or more rings in the NFL. He's been the most accomplished player in history and that will probably remain true for a very long time.

What may be more impressive is that he is able to defy Father Time. Tom Brady age 45 is still going at an incredibly high level.

Admittedly, Tom Brady age 45 is not quite as exceptional as he was at 44, but he is still playing very well, especially for someone well past retirement age.

Despite the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' struggles, the quarterback has still thrown for over 3,000 yards, 14 touchdowns and just two interceptions in 11 starts.

His timeless nature begs the question: will anyone do this again?

Tom Brady age: Will anyone ever play as long as he has again?

At some point, age catches up to everyone. It happens to quarterbacks most visibly. Their arm strength is gone one year when it was just fine the previous year.

Quarterbacks who came into the league after the Buccaneers star have seen that happen to them. Drew Brees was drafted in 2001, and arguably by 2019, his arm strength was gone.

After 18 seasons, Brady threw 4,355 yards and 29 touchdowns. That was three seasons ago and he still hasn't reached the point where his body fails him.

All that is to say that this kind of longevity is nearly impossible. No one has done this quite like Brady has. He's a truly timeless and ageless wonder, so someone similar would be the only one who could do it.

There is one more factor working against all quarterbacks now. The game is evolving and defensive players are stronger and faster.

While the NFL is dedicated to protecting quarterbacks, it's impossible to avoid hits that are arguably stronger than in some years past.

That kind of thing takes a toll and makes it even harder for quarterbacks to make it in this league for the long run.

Appreciate the fact that the future Hall of Famer is still playing well in season 23, because that may never happen again.
