Zamir White injury update: Latest on Raiders RB for Fantasy Football Week 5

Zamir White is the starting running back for the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2024 NFL season. White started 2023 as Josh Jacobs' backup but saw an increase in minutes due to Jacobs' injury issues.

So, with the 2024 NFL season in full flow, let's examine the Raiders' running back's injury status.

Zamir White's injury update

According to CBS Sports, Zamir White missed Thursday's practice session due to a groin issue. Thus, the starting RB is in a race against time to prove his fitness for his team's game on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

According to injury analyst Jeff Mueller, White suffered a groin injury in Wednesday's practice. So, Alexander Mattison might get more attention in the days leading up to the Raiders' Week 5 game.

Zamir White has had a less-than-spectacular start to the 2024 NFL season. The RB1 has reached 50 rushing yards in a game just once, as he achieved the feat in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns. He is yet to score a touchdown for the season and looked particularly off in the Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

White's fantasy football managers will be hoping for an increase in productivity, or they'll be forced to look forward to trade targets as the fantasy football season reaches its business end.

Las Vegas Raiders injury report

Zamir White is far from the only Las Vegas Raiders player not to participate in Thursday's session.

Other key players are defensive end Maxx Crosby (ankle), linebacker Divine Deablo (oblique), tackle Thayer Munford Jr. (knee/ankle), cornerback Decamerion Richardson (hamstring), wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring), guard Dylan Parham (Achilles), Michael Mayer (personal reasons), linebacker Kana'i Mauga (calf) and linebacker Luke Masterson (knee).

The players who participated in Thursday's session but were limited in capacity are Kolton Miller, Trey Taylor and Cody Whitehair. Jakorian Bennett and Isaiah Pola-Mao also appear on the injury report, but they were full participants on Thursday.

The Raiders are up against the Denver Broncos in Week 5. The Broncos are fresh off their second win of the season with a resilient defensive effort against the Aaron Rodgers-led New York Jets. The Raiders must improve offensively if they're looking to seal their third win of the season on Sunday.
