Buddy Matthews (birth name: Matthew Adams) is a professional wrestler from Australia. The former AEW World Trios Titleholder is an individual from the House of Black. Matthews also worked for WWE for eight years (2013 to 2021) under the name Murphy and Buddy Murphy. Before coming to the spotlight, he formerly performed for Melbourne City Wrestling (MCW) and Professional Championship Wrestling (PCW) under the name Matt Silva. He has the MCW World Heavyweight Title, PCW State Title, BPW Australian Title, etc. to his name.

Buddy Matthews became the first individual from Australia to win a title at WWE following his NXT Tag Team Title win with Wesley Blake. After moving to the main roster of WWE Matthews won the WWE Cruiserweight in 2018. He won the WWE Raw Tag Team Title with Seth Rollins the following year on RAW. After he departed from WWE in 2021, Matthews worked for Major League Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling before making his AEW debut in 2022. Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) placed Buddy Matthews at the 33rd spot among the top 500 wrestlers in 2019. He was additionally named Breakthrough Wrestler of the Year by CBS Sports in 2018.

Buddy Matthews uses Murphy's Law as his primary finisher, which is a Pumphandle Lift into Death Valley Driver or Samoan Drop. He started to use this move on February 20, 2018, and still using this as of April 2024. He also used Murphy's Law in a different form, a Running Brainbuster which Matthews started using on November 23, 2013, and used till February 19, 2018. While working in independent promotions as Matt Silva, Matthews used Lights Out, a Bicycle Knee Strike, and Silva Breaker as his finishers. He started using the Lights Out move on September 8, 2007, and used it till April 13, 2013.

Buddy Matthews used several signature moves as Murphy while working for WWE and a few other signature moves under the name Matt Silva in the independent promotion. He used a Wheelbarrow suplex, Running a big boot in the corner, Diving Meteora, Multiple Powerbombs, kicks, Stiff punches, and forearm strikes as Murphy. On the other side, Matthews used Silva Shock, a Pumphandle neck driver, Silva Star Press, a Running standing shooting star press, and Silva Bullet, a Missile dropkick as his signature moves as Matt Silva to defeat his opponents.
