Dallas Stars v Edmonton Oilers - Game Six

The Dallas Stars are a professional ice hockey team based in Dallas, Texas and compete in National Hockey League (NHL) as part of the Central Division in the Western Conference. Notably, they were established in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars and later relocated to Dallas in 1993 amid financial strains, low attendance and a sexual harassment lawsuit against former owner Norman Green.

In its present iteration, the Dallas Stars have been largely successful as they have claimed nine Division Championships, three Western Conference Championships, two Presidents' Trophy and a sole Stanley Cup in 1999. Moreover, they are led by owner Tom Gaglardi off the field while day-to-day activities are taken care by general manager Jim Nill and the coaching responsibilities are handled by Peter DeBoer.

The Dallas Stars have made several significant draft selections throughout their history. This includes, Jamie Benn as one of the examples of their smart business. He was chosen in the fifth round of the 2007 draft and later became one of the most talented forwards in the league. Presently, he serves as the captain of the team and has won the Art Ross Trophy once till date. Other example of their smart business includes John Klingberg, who was drafted in the fifth round of the 2010 draft and has since emerged as a solid defenseman for the Stars. Other notable draft picks include, Marty Turco, Trevor Daley, and Brenden Morrow.
